Strategic Business Development & Re-Engineerings
“If you don't know where you are going, every road will get you nowhere.” Henry Kissinger
Over the course of time, businesses become set in their ways and comfortable.
But in practice there is no such thing as running in place . . . businesses are either growing or dying. When we speak with decades old businesses who have failed, a common refrain among CEOs is than they mistook fundamental market changes for what they believed to be normal cyclicality. When businesses find themselves having fallen behind their competition because of inadequate investments in manufacturing technology, new product offerings or simply hiring key talent, it takes twice as long and twice as much capital as they would have thought to catch up, if that is even possible.
Our focus is asking probing questions, pushing organizations to reconsider their fundamental value propositions and challenging them to re-imagine their product offerings in ways which are sustainable.
Too frequently, organizations in decline give away margin in an attempt to win back market share, but that strategy rarely works over the course of time, as competing on price rather than value is a race to the bottom. Essential is redefining organizations’ historical strengths and reshaping market perceptions.
Change is hard, but possible.
