Our Trust and Estate litigation team very favorably settled an objection to a will that left an estate to our client - a non-relative home health caregiver

Our client was an in-home caregiver for the decedent. The decedent came to greatly rely on her. She provided for her in her will. She made her the executor and made a deal with her that she would receive the entirety of the estate if she took care of decedent and kept her out of a nursing home. Our client provided great care and the decedent never went into a nursing home. When she died, her relatives objected to the will. There was much testimony under oath in the case. We relied on medical proof and the strong testimony of the attorney who drew the will to prevail. We settled the case just as the trial was to start, for substantially less money than the cost to complete the case.
